English Heritage
English Heritage exists to protect and promote England’s spectacular historic environment and ensure that its past is researched and understood.
HELM (Historic Environment Local Management) – a division of English Heritage – provides accessible information, training and guidance to decision makers in local authorities, regional agencies and national organisations whose actions affect the historic environment. The HELM programme was set up by English Heritage in 2004 with the aim of working with key partners to provide the tools to manage change in the historic environment with increased skill and confidence.
In partnership with Box UK, Mark Boulton Design worked closely with English Heritage to redefine the HELM website, the branding, Information Architecture and visual design.
HELM produces a staggering amount of documentation and literature detailing all aspects of their remit. We worked closely with the in-house team to re-structure the existing website in order to accommodate the ongoing requirements of the organisation. The, in consultation with external branding companies, we designed a fresh, legible colour-coded layout to present the information in the bet possible way.
Responsibilities: Information Architecture, UX Design, Graphic Design and Art Direction.
