An Agency Reinvented
Garcia Media have had a website since 1996. This new site will be the fifth incarnation of the site since then, and represents a clarity in visual terms, but also in terms of reflecting the company’s output and breadth of business.
The new architecture of the site reflected the services the company offers—but from the perspective of the delivery medium. Many people still see Garcia Media as a traditional news design company, but their business reaches further afield, from design audits to developing mobile content.
Built on top of this new architecture, and in close collaboration with Webgraph, Mark Boulton Design set about creating a beautifully simple solution.
Restrained colours, sophisticated typography, all sitting on a carefully crafted grid system, all seemed fitting for an agency who has redefined the design of news over so many years. We had to be sensitive to both the historical content of the Garcia Media brand, but also the new architecture and the what makes a good website.
At Mark Boulton Design, we take typography particularly seriously. Crafting a simple solution such as this requires a typographic attention to detail second to none. Without it, the design would simply not work. And, as this was Garcia Media, we had to make sure the typographic system on the site was equal any of the publications Garcia produces.
Garcia Media was launched in November 2007.
