OCEG
The Open Compliance and Ethics Group (OCEG) is a non-profit organisation based in Arizona, US. They provide Standards and Guidelines, Evaluation Criteria & Benchmarks and a Community of Practice for organisations across the globe.
Mark Boulton Design were asked to redesign the user experience of their site, provide a revised information architecture - incorporating many social and community features. The new site includes thousands of pages of textual content, elegantly displayed, to maximise legibility. All of this was designed using an agile methodology and included frequent user testing and evaluation.
Approach
OCEG provide documentation and community support for a wide range of companies – from large bluechip organisations, to smaller niche businesses. As with all of our projects, the first point of call was trying to understand their business, their users and the website as the place where the two meet. Establishing user goals was crucial given the desire to include more community features on the new website.
Drupal and Salesforce, sitting in a tree...
The new OCEG site is built using the Drupal content management system. The original OCEG site was a bespoke .NET deployment featuring functionality that needed to be replicated in the new Drupal-based site. We worked with a range of specialist Drupal freelancers to deliver vital functionality. A key piece in this puzzle is a complex integration with the Salesforce CRM system. Mark Boulton Design developed a bespoke module – built on top of the freely available Drupal Salesforce module – to provide a sophisticated automatic sign up, upgrade and role management system.
Responsibilities: Information Architecture, User Experience Design, XHTML/CSS development, Drupal development, Bespoke CRM integration and deployment.
