BBC Me and My Health
BBC Me and My Health is a website to help people living in Wales become better informed about health and healthcare provision.
Multi-platform development
Me and Health was a multi-platform project for the BBC. The content for the season would be delivered on TV, Radio and Online. Mark Boulton Design was first appointed to establish the logo and branding elements that would be used across the multi-platform activity.
We approached the development of the brand in conjunction with BBC Wales’ promotions team. A hand-written logo was developed to communicate the personal attributes of the project. Coupled with a bright, fresh colour palette and additional typography, the branding was received well by the BBC and and the target audience.

In addition to the logo, Mark Boulton Design commissioned and art directed the production of supporting illustrations. The illustrative icons form the basis of animations produced for each section of the new website.

The Mother of all Invention
Constraints are, they say, the mother all of invention. And there were plenty with this project. The website had to be produced within an in-house content management system environment. The video player was also an existing application which had to be reskinned for this project. One of the most challenging aspects of the design of the website was it had to take into account these constraints but also it had to fit with several brands; the BBC, BBC Wales and the new Me and My Health branding.

The final website design deals elegantly with that criteria. It blends seamlessly with its other BBC Wales categories whilst retaining a degree of separation to ensure visitors who are prompted by a TV trail will understand they are in the right place.
